Rewatch it here: Facebook News Feed Changes: What’s Next for Publishers & Media Companies

Mark Zuckerberg introduced sweeping changes to Facebook’s news feed algorithm that will change how media and publishers will be able to reach their audiences. In his announcement, Zuckerberg said, “We created Facebook for personal sharing, we want to create a sense of community.” This means less publisher, media, and commercial content and more friends and family posts.

However, despite these changes, Facebook is still massively consumer-oriented and regardless of algorithm changes, is it possible for a consumer’s personal preferences to override Facebook’s algorithm?

In this episode of “The Consumer Holds All the Cards,” SocialFlow’s CEO Jim Anderson and Campaign Strategist Kate Smith look at how this algorithm change directly affects trending news and how it’ll shift consumers’ attention to other platforms.
