SocialFlow, the first social media optimization platform, has announced that Peter Hershberg has joined the company as President. A veteran of the New York startup and advertising industry for over fifteen years, Hershberg’s hiring follows SocialFlow’s recent $7 million Series A round and its partnership announcement with Twitter.
“Peter is an extremely experienced entrepreneur with a proven track record in scaling companies, creating and diversifying revenue streams, and building strong businesses around emerging industries,” said Frank Speiser, CEO, SocialFlow. “We’ve had a great working relationship with Peter for months now, first as an investor and then as an advisor. When the opportunity for him to join the company full-time presented itself, we all knew he’d be a great fit.”
Hershberg most recently co-founded Reprise Media and served as co-CEO from February 2003 until December 2009. During that time, the company grew from a self-funded startup based in New York City into one of the world’s largest search engine marketing firms, with offices in dozens of cities around the world. Reprise Media was acquired by Interpublic Group (NYSE: IPG) in April, 2007.
Prior to that, Hershberg served as the Vice President of Strategic Development at Ask.com (the 12th largest site on the web at the time). He was also the co-Founder of Rotomedia, a search engine optimization consulting firm for web marketers and publishers that was acquired by Ask Jeeves in April, 1999.
An active early-stage investor, Hershberg’s recent investments include Betaworks, Bitly, Chartbeat, GroupMe, Kickstarter, SocialFlow, and Yipit.
