Due to popular demand we’ve added more Facebook post targeting options to our targeting repertoire and even given targeting a new look. We’ve also split Facebook post delivery into it’s constituent delivery options: Targeting and Gating.

Targeting determines whose News Feeds your posts appear in but still allows everyone to see posts on your Facebook page. Gating determines who receives and sees your posts both in their feed and on your page.

Targeting options are available via the target icon in compose. Audience Gating options are available through the audience icon.

The new targeting options are:

  • Age Range
  • Gender
  • Relationship Status
  • Interested In
  • Education
  • Workplace
  • Location
  • Language

Gating options remain the same: Location and Language.

Targeting and Gating are extremely effective for marketers who wish to create multivariate messaging, offers targeted to specific demographics, or boost and awaken dormant audience segments.
